“Age-Friendly” is an internationally recognized designation that communities earn by planning and taking action aimed at accommodating the changing needs of older residents and ensuring their communities remain attractive places to live with features that not only benefit seniors, but support the health, safety, and participation of residents of all ages.
To date, ten provinces are promoting age-friendly community initiatives and many Canadian communities have achieved or are working toward this designation. There are numerous innovative projects and helpful tools and resources developed in Canada and elsewhere to support Age-Friendly initiatives. This Group is a place to share information about these, and for those interested and/or involved in Age-Friendly efforts to connect and learn from each other.
