Description: The National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE) is a not-for-profit charitable organization created in 2005 from the Networks of Centres of Excellence New Initiatives grant. We are an international network of researchers, practitioners, students, and seniors dedicated to improving care of older adults, both in Canada and abroad. NICE has three main goals: (1) Help close the gap between evidence-based research and practice; (2)Improve the training of existing practitioners, geriatric and gerontological educational curricula, and interest new students in specializing in geriatric and gerontological care; (3) Effect positive policy changes for the care of older adults. 3500+ members represent a broad spectrum of disciplines and professions, including geriatric medicine, gerontological nursing and social work, rehabilitation science, social sciences, policy and law. We develop strong and diverse partnerships to achieve our goals: capacity building, knowledge transfer, gerontology education, and student engagement. Benefits of being a NICE member: - Access to knowledge transfer tools and resources - Participation in NICE conferences and workshops - Access to the institute of Life Course and Aging's archived mini-series and seminars on aging - Networking with other processionals working with older adults For more information or to become a NICE member, visit https://www.nicenet.ca/ View video below for more information.
