[Canada-Wide] Beneva Grant to Prevent Social Isolation (deadline: Aug 31, 2026)

Social isolation is affecting more and more people, and its impacts on physical and mental health are real. Our goal is to contribute to making communities stronger and more resilient.

Our priorities

Growing support networks: To promote solidarity and mutual aid, we encourage initiatives that set up support networks for those at risk of social isolation.

Strengthening the sense of belonging: To boost people's sense of belonging, we support initiatives that encourage social interaction and community involvement.

2026 Timeline

June 15 to August 31: Request submission period

September 15 to October 31: Request finalization process (for pre-selected organizations)

December: Announcement of selected organizations

Initiatives that seek to prevent social isolation must also:

  • encourage mutual aid and collaboration in the community
  • foster citizen participation
  • propose sustainable prevention methods

Evaluations will be based on:

  • prevention of social isolation
  • relevance to our philanthopic commitments (growing support networks and strengthening the sense of belonging)
  • regional scope of the initiative
  • outreach to those in need

We focus on initiatives that support people who are most at risk of isolation, specifically:

  • Vulnerable youth
  • Single parents experiencing insecurity
  • Seniors living in isolation
  • People living with physical or mental health issues and their caregivers
  • People with disabilities
  • People who face discrimination
