CanAge & InterGen Studio Survey - 2021
Feeling connected and having strong relationships with others are important to a person’s health and well-being. Unfortunately, many Canadians lack strong social connections or interactions with family, friends and others in their communities. About 1 in 5 older adults reported feeling isolated before the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s gotten worse as the pandemic continues.
Social isolation can be linked to changes in a person’s health condition, experiencing major life events, or struggles with personal identity including age, race, sexual orientation, and gender. Signs of feeling socially isolated include experiencing loneliness, boredom and a lack of self-care.
The team at CanAge and InterGen Studio™ want to know how we can help combat social isolation. Your valuable input will help us develop meaningful initiatives to engage youth, adults and seniors from diverse backgrounds so we can strengthen connections across all generations of Canadians. Together, we can break down the stigma of social isolation and build stronger, healthier communities for everyone.
