Government of Canada announces funding to improve the quality of life for seniors across the country

news image

The Government of Canada has announced over $54 million in funding for more than 2,600 community-based projects supporting seniors through the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP). Funded initiatives focus on areas such as social participation, digital literacy, fraud awareness, and intergenerational engagement, benefiting over 400 communities nationwide.

While this announcement reflects funding awarded through the 2025โ€“26 intake, a new call for proposals for 2026โ€“27 is expected later this spring, with an increased maximum of $50,000 per project. Organizations interested in supporting seniors are encouraged to monitor for the upcoming application launch.
