news image
Each year on June 1, we promote Intergenerational Day – a celebration of the mutual benefits of building relationships across generations. This year, EAPO in collaboration with IG connections are hosting a webinar to highlight programs from across Canada to provide a snapshot of IG initiatives and their successes. Each year, on June 1, Canadians recognize Intergenerational Day (IG Day) to celebrate the mutual benefits of building relationships across age groups.   CNPEA and Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario, in collaboration with I2i Society and IG Connections, are hosting a webinar to highlight a selection of IG programs and initiatives across the country. These include: GrandPals (ON), Mutual Mentoring Program (AB), as well as high school programs in New Brunswick. We will also introduce the new Intergenerational Action Plan in New Brunswick. Our speakers will share their experience leading these programs and explore how IG connections encourage social involvement and transfer of knowledge, and build on the strengths of youth and seniors to foster stronger communities. They will also explain how you can support and get engaged with intergenerational initiatives.   ASL Interpretation will be provided for this event. The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
