[News] National Volunteer Action Strategy

news image

A series of initiatives are underway to support the National Volunteer Action Strategy (NVAS). From June to October, there are many ways you can get involved.

From long-time volunteers and non-profit staff to community leaders, social impact changemakers, and those just getting involved—these sessions are a space to share ideas, learn from each other, and imagine what’s possible for volunteerism in Canada.

Your participation is crucial. By sharing your experiences, you help us gather valuable data that helps co-build an impactful National Volunteer Action Strategy, strengthen our advocacy efforts and enables us to share insights with our partners.Ways to get involved:

1. Fill out the survey and win!

The more responses we receive, the greater our impact will be. Please share the survey across your networks to help us reach as many people as possible.

Everyone who participates in the survey will be entered into monthly draws for a chance to win a $100 gift card.

2. Join a virtual or in-person Round Table

These sessions bring together volunteers, volunteer engagers, non-profit staff, and sector leaders to share insights and shape the future of volunteering in Canada.

Virtual BC Round Tables (in partnership with Volunteer BC, made possible with support from Canada Life)

Nova Scotia Round Tables (in partnership with Volunteer Nova Scotia made possible with support from Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage Nova Scotia)

3. Community Activator Partnerships

We are inviting non-profits, charities, and community collectives to co-create the NVAS and enhance community engagement. Partnerships are open to groups with programming scheduled from June 1st to September 2nd, 2025, with a focus on equity-seeking populations.

Fill out the form and be part of this transformative initiative! We’re accepting partnerships on a rolling basis until funding has been distributed.

This initiative is made possible with support from the McConnell Foundation.
