This year’s United Nations International Day of Older Persons shines a global spotlight on the power of older persons as experts, advocates, and change-makers. The 2025 theme calls on governments, organizations, and communities to center older persons’ perspectives in policies, programs, and legislation across all sectors, ensuring that experience and wisdom guide the path forward.

Co-organized by the Permanent Mission of Argentina, the NGO Committee on Ageing, and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), this event underscores a shared commitment to inclusion, dignity, and intergenerational solidarity worldwide.
