If you are an unpaid, or paid, individual in a caregiving role, the McMaster Continuing Education Caregiving Essentials course and webinar series will provide you with relevant and meaningful information to help you as a caregiver.

This month, join host Donna Thomson as she welcomes Dr. Barry Jacobs, a clinical psychologist, family therapist and the author of the book, "The Emotional Survival Guide for Caregivers—Looking After Yourself and Your Family While Helping an Aging Parent".

Donna and Dr. Jacobs will discuss sibling conflict in family caregiving. What can be done when siblings won't step up to help the primary family caregiver? What if they continually disagree with decisions or try to micromanage the family caregiver? Dr. Barry Jacobs uses his professional experience as a clinical psychologist as well as his own sibling caregiving experiences to guide us through the pitfalls and the wins in sibling caregiving.

Don't miss this practical and realistic discussion about creating collaborative relationships in caregiving families! By registering and attending this webinar, you will be entered into a giveaway for a chance to win one of 10 copies Dr. Jacob's book, The Emotional Survival Guide for Caregivers Looking After Yourself and Your Family While Helping an Aging Parent.

About our speaker: Barry J. Jacobs, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist, a family therapist and a member of AARP's Caregiving Advisory Panel. His passion for enhancing support for family caregivers led him to write or cowrite dozens of articles and several books on the subject, including AARP Meditations for Caregivers: Practical, Emotional and Spiritual Support for You and Your Family and the forthcoming Love and Meaning at 50. He served as caregiver for his mother and stepfather, both of whom had dementia. Jacobs has appeared as a caregiving expert on Dr. Phil and given more than 600 presentations for family caregivers, community groups, and medical and mental health professionals.
