The COA Calculator helps address these gaps by providing detailed estimates of potential costs, including food, housing, transportation, home care and day-to-day living expenses, tailored to different circumstances across Canada.

The COA Calculator allows users to explore how ageing-related costs vary based on region, health status, living arrangements and homecare needs across three retirement living standards — modest, moderate and comfortable.

The Cost of Ageing (COA) Calculator is a not-for-profit research resource independently developed by the National Institute on Ageing (NIA) at Toronto Metropolitan University to support research, policy analysis, education and informed public discussion about ageing in Canada.
