[Video] NOT ALONE: Seniors Scam Stories

Scams targeting older adults are increasing, and many seniors feel embarrassed or isolated after being targeted. By sharing their stories, these seniors hope to help others recognize the warning signs, speak openly about fraud, and know that they are not alone.

This series was created by the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE) through funding from the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP). The project empowers seniors through storytelling, legal education, and practical scam prevention tips.

Through these personal stories, viewers will learn:

• How scams often begin
• The tactics scammers use to build trust and create urgency
• The emotional and financial impact of fraud
• Why reporting scams and sharing experiences matters

Most importantly, these stories help reduce the stigma many seniors feel after being targeted.

Fraud can happen to anyone. Talking about it helps protect others.
