Village to Village Network Releases Research Report on Village-AAA Collaborations

Village to Village Network is pleased to share with you our just-released publication, Leveraging Resources Handbook: Collaborations between Villages and Area Agencies on Aging. The handbook presents the results of a seven-month research project conducted by Village to Village Network (VtVN) with grant support from NextFifty Initiative and in coordination with USAging, the national association that represents and supports Area Agencies on Aging.

The handbook is a resource for both Villages and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), and we expect it also will be of interest to others in the aging services network. It features a number of case studies of successful Village–AAA collaborations around the country, including their origins and descriptions and how the relationships are managed. It also highlights key takeaways and lessons learned as well as information both Villages and AAAs can use as they consider establishing a relationship that can leverage resources and expand the ability to serve older adults in the community.

Villages and AAAs are natural partners serving older adults! Please help spread the word by sharing the link to the Leveraging Resources Handbook with your board, staff, volunteers, and others in your network.  You may also wish to include the link and a description of the handbook in your newsletter, blog, social media or general publicity.  Please also share the publication with your Area Agency on Aging, local government officials, and local and state office or council on aging.

Partnerships enable all of us to achieve more than we can do alone!  At Village to Village Network, we hope that this handbook will be a catalyst for additional collaborations between Villages and AAAs in service to our common goal to enable more older adults to thrive at home with ongoing connections to their communities. We welcome your feedback on this publication.
