Addressing Complexity in Seniors’ Mental Health: Call for Abstracts

The Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry (CAGP) and the Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health (CCSMH) are pleased to announce that the Call for Abstracts for the CAGP-CCSMH Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is now open! 

Submission Deadline: March 14, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Further details may be requested from those whose abstracts are accepted. Selected abstracts will be published in the CAGP-CCSMH ASM Book of Abstracts and in a future issue of the Canadian Geriatrics Journal (www.cgjonline.ca). The theme of this year's meeting is Addressing Complexity in Seniors' Mental Health.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2023 ASM will be held in St. John’s, Newfoundland from September 29-30, 2023. We are excited to be heading to another sensational setting to learn, share and network with our colleagues from across the country!

We encourage submissions that relate to the theme of the conference, especially those that highlight new or emerging topics, research, or programming. Topics that are particularly relevant include diagnosis of complexities, treatment approaches including psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, brain stimulation and the use of psychedelics, and approaches to addressing and supporting social complexities such as homelessness, poverty, loneliness and isolation. Further, we encourage submissions with a focus on diverse gender and sexual identities, Indigenous health, cultural safety, anti-racism, disability, and other underrepresented topics related to vulnerabilities/inequities in older adult mental health care. Multidisciplinary perspectives and content that is geared toward trainees are welcome as always!
