Digital Conversations: The Social Impacts of Redefining Aging

event and training image

To date, aging is largely seen as a cost to society. What if we redefine aging as an opportunity for our society, economy, and culture? What are the opportunities to reframe the value of aging in future skills, arts and culture, technology, employment, and social cohesion? We are all aging. Yet we have fragmented aging as the remit of the health sector, largely disconnected from the social, economic, innovation, and cultural sectors moving Canada forward.

Future of Good, in partnership with United Way Centraide Canada and Community Foundations of Canada, has developed a digital conversation series at called #BuildBackBetter - dedicated dialogues and sensemaking webinars that help Canada's social impact sector understand the dramatic changes that communities are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as visionary ways that we should be adapting in order to support a forward-looking recovery.

On April 20, Saint Elizabeth Health is leading the conversation with Future of Good on The Social Impacts of Redefining Aging. From 1-2:15 PM ET, Future of Good will be focusing on framing aging as a value and how we might take an anti-ageist approach to skills, employment and economic recovery, as well as how to set up our societies and cultures to better care for our elderly communities. They will go through various learnings and cultural practices such as intergenerational bonds and touch on organizations who are already practicing this more holistic view.
