Program Overview
The Cognitive Assessment Tools Workshop is a comprehensive, interactive training event designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively utilize common cognitive assessment tools in clinical practice. This workshop will focus on the selection, administration, and interpretation of cognitive assessments to support the identification, diagnosis, and management of cognitive impairments in patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify when and why to use cognitive assessment tools
- Demonstrate the ability to administer and score cognitive tests in a standardized manner
- Understand and apply basic psychometric properties of cognitive testing
What is included?
This facilitated half-day virtual workshop will allow participants to engage with geriatric experts and participate in a small interactive group setting. The CAT workshop has been reviewed and endorsed by McMaster University.

- Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)
- Respondent Burden
- Confusion Assessment Method (CAM)
